[Collingwood, 10 July 2024] – MacLean Engineering is launching its latest multi-purpose, four-season municipal maintenance vehicle for the North American market, with the unveiling of the sixth-generation MacLean MV designed and developed since the founding of the company’s Diversified Division almost two decades ago. The MV6 has been refined from the wheels up to deliver more head and legroom, improved operator ergonomics and sightlines, a simpler and more intuitive control system, and easier access for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, all of which contribute to a better operator experience, improved productivity and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for MacLean MV6 customers over the product lifecycle.

Many of the initial MV6 units produced at the company’s Owen Sound facility will ship this summer to municipal customers in Simcoe County, which MacLean is marking with ‘hometown’ pride as a global manufacturer with a production footprint centered in Simcoe and Grey Counties in the southern Georgian Bay region of Ontario.

“With each iteration of the MacLean MV, we continue to push ourselves to raise the bar for our municipal customers in terms of giving them the highest quality, best supported, safest, most ergonomic, and cleanest-running MV anywhere in the world,” remarks Scott Johnston, Product Development Manager, MacLean.  “We’ve been able to achieve this because first and foremost we’ve listened to our longstanding customers when they have provided improvement suggestions over the years, and we have also leveraged the deep engineering and manufacturing expertise of a company that has recently reached its 50-year milestone and currently numbers over 1,300 employees on four continents.”

“When you buy MacLean, you get the full package of engineered design and aftermarket support that has built our global reputation in mining and now the municipal sector,” adds Jordon Hough, Account Manager, MacLean.  “This means for the new MV6, we’ve paid special attention to operator ergonomics, safety, environmental performance, and ease of maintenance, so that these units can be cost-effective, reliable workhorses for municipalities across the continent and throughout all seasons.”
