MacLean employees gathered around vehicles marking two important production stages: from left to right – the 100th BT3 boom / boom truck and the 200th SL3 scissor lift.
Collingwood, ON [19 November 2018] – Two production milestone units are ready to roll off the line at MacLean Engineering’s Collingwood, Ontario manufacturing facility: SL3 Scissor Lift #200 and BT3 Boom Truck #100, going to mines in Quebec and British Columbia, respectively.
“We’re known for our bolters and increasingly our battery electric fleet offer, especially in Canadian mining, so it’s fitting that our two utility vehicle production milestones are units being shipped to mines in Canada,” says MacLean President, Kevin MacLean. “We’re confident that our utility vehicle product line offer of safety, performance, reliability and parts commonality will stand the test of time at home and abroad in the mining world.”
Eldorado Gold purchased the 200th MacLean scissor lift for Lamaque Mine in Val d’Or, Quebec. This makes for a total of 15 MacLean machines on site, with five more on their way for 2019.

Centerra Gold’s Kemess Underground Project in BC’s northern interior is the destination for MacLean’s 100th boom truck. Kemess is a former open-pit gold and copper mine that is currently in the feasibility study stage for a block cave mining operation. Already on site is a MacLean ANFO charger, in preparation for underground mining to commence.
“Centerra chose MacLean to be their mobile unit provider based on previous positive experiences with our products. They also want to standardize their equipment and have fewer OEMs on site. MacLean’s reputation for service and support, along with equipment reliability and durability, played an important part in their selection as well,” says Adam Howse, MacLean’s Business Development Manager for Western Canada and the US. “From our end, we’re excited to work with Centerra to help build Canada’s next underground block cave mine.”
