Bilingual Help Desk Support II

MacLean Engineering is looking for a skilled and experienced Bilingual Help Desk Support II to join our team in Sudbury Ontario. SCOPE

The Help Desk Technician II is responsible in assisting MacLean Engineering employees at all locations with all help desk related activities including hardware and software support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist MacLean Engineering employees at all locations with all help desk related activities including hardware and software support.

• Source and requisition hardware and software from multiple vendors as directed by the Business Systems Manager or Supervisor.

• Responsible for the initial setup, configuration, and maintenance of all hardware and software.

• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of IT related hardware and software and ensure the integrity of these documents via periodic audits.

• Travel to our various branches and facilities is required, including annual onsite support to our Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba branches.

• Must possess excellent communication skills, be adept at problem solving and demonstrate the ability to work independently.

• Swipe card security setup for building access, AutoCrib and Fastenal for all locations.

• Potential candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be adept at problem solving and demonstrate the ability to work independently.

• Strong organizational and time management skills are important to succeed in this role.

• Project work as assigned by the Business Systems Supervisor.

About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this role

Education

 • Diploma or Degree in an IT related field is required

 • A+ Certification is an asset 

Experience 

 • Five (5) + years’ experience in a help desk environment

 • Strong working knowledge of all MS Operating Systems

 • Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD is an asset

 • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is an asset

 • Knowledge of unRAID, Barracuda backup systems and Bit defender is an asset 

Working Conditions

 • Full time, in person role – Office and Factory setting

 • Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

 • Fast paced, multitasking work environment

 • Able to provide on-call support on a 2-week rotation

 • Required to wear PPE on shop floor at all times 

 • Valid drivers license required as well as the ability to be ensured by the company carrier
