Before and After, MacLean-style

BEFORE
AFTER

Underground mining equipment endures a tough life, operating in rigorous and challenging environments throughout its lifecycle. The wear and tear these rigs experience can lead to significant costs for mining companies, often resulting in the need to retire the equipment and invest in new machinery. However, that doesn’t always have to be the case. When done correctly, rebuilds offer a cost-effective solution to extend the life of the equipment, providing a valuable alternative to replacement.

The mobile equipment in underground mining is highly customized to a mine’s particular needs. When a rig that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars goes underground to work, it often never comes back up. MacLean mining vehicles generally last well over a decade and can get rebuilt several times over that course of time.  ‘Built to last’ isn’t a slogan, it’s a statement of fact.

So the Service & Support part of our value proposition to the mining industry is central to what we do. Once a MacLean mining vehicle arrives at site and is commissioned, the need for ongoing field service support is often a critical factor in the successful lifecycle of that unit at site. Regular maintenance can be conducted in the underground service bays or surface facilities at mine sites, but a full rebuilds that MacLean can offer as the OEM, the specialized parts and mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge that is engineered into every MacLean mining vehicle, can only come from the source. This is the ‘MacLean Way’ to safety and productivity in the underground environment.

It’s why we’re so proud every time a full rebuild emerges from one of our full-service branches in Sudbury or Val d’Or, or our facilities in Mexico, or South Africa, and Australia. Taking something that looks like a mining truck looks like after working underground for a close to a decade or more (i.e. ‘before’), and then transforming it in a cost-effective manner to as-new (i.e. ‘after’), delivers a renewed lifecycle and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for the mines. It’s no surprise that the visual impact of a ‘before and after’ reveal from one of our rebuild shops, invariably gets the highest amount of follower engagement on our social media feeds.

MacLean OEM rebuild  capacity delivers a TCO advantage. To get the details on the MacLean tiered offer, from audit to repair to partial rebuild to full rebuild, please reach out to: info@macleanengineering.com.
