POSITION TITLE: Web Developer

MacLean Engineering is looking for a skilled and experienced Web Developer to join our team in Collingwood, ON for an 18-month contract. About the Position: The Web Developer will work as a part of a team of experienced developers. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solid, reliable, and optimized code, managing websites and web presence for MacLean. Work with Marketing and IT staff to ensure ongoing consistency and innovation in web content and design, accurate and secure content, and easy site navigation for a memorable end-user experience. This position requires the following proficiencies:
- Be an expert front-end web developer. Able to implement complex web applications quickly and with high quality. You love to code.
- Interface with clients. Able to understand their business requirements and know how they can be implemented. Suggest best course of action.
- Highly proficient at front-end development (Node.js and/or React and/or Angular).
- Excellent knowledge of HTML, RESTful API's. CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (Coffeescript), Browser API.
- Understanding of modern web standards and best practices.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Must be able to handle changing requirements.
- Deep knowledge of developing and testing for multiple browsers and platforms.
- Understand Git version control.
- Detail and quality oriented.
- Excellent English communication skills.
About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, be open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
- Diploma or Degree in a related discipline is an asset
- Three (3) + years’ experience as a web developer
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience developing applications with React JS (including React Native) and/or Angular JS
- Extensive experience using HTML5/CSS3
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, jQuery
- An intermediate understanding of RESTful API
- Fluent with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent)
- Experienced with non-relational databases
