POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Lead Hand
SHIFT: Day Shift
LOCATION: Barrie, Ontario
MacLean Engineering is looking for a skilled and experienced Warehouse Lead Hand to join our growing aftermarket warehouse team in Barrie, Ontario. About the Position: The Warehouse Lead Hand is responsible for safety, coordinating priorities, training and the organization of the warehouse department. This position requires proficient, correct, timely and safe execution of the following tasks:
- Ensure department priorities are met including safety, quality, delivery, and other metrics as specified by supervisor.
- Coordinate shipments according to customer requirement, shipping schedule and rush orders
- Ensure audits are completed efficiently and accurately
- Communicate shortages and capacity assessment to the supervisor
- Provide documented input to supervisor regarding peers’ levels of competence, performance, and potential to assist in performance reviews.
- Ensure that a safe working environment is provided in all areas of MEMCO through leading by example, formally identifying unsafe work conditions and assisting supervisor with acting toward permanent corrective measures.
- Ensure all equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.
- Train, and mentor peers, addressing concerns and resolving problems.
- Lead 5S and organizational initiatives and report on status and success of individuals and programs.
- Supporting and participating in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Assist supervisor with troubleshooting within cross-functional groups as required.
About You: The successful candidate must have a positive / open-minded team-attitude with excellent communication and time management skills. Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a high technical aptitude are also required. This position requires some hands-on problem solving (factory and field) along with in-depth analysis using various computer programs, specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics AX. The successful candidate will have a firm understanding of how to approach problems with different audiences and navigate toward the solution strategically. The following qualifications are required:
- Previous supervisory experience, specifically leadership and problem-solving abilities is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of related materials experience is preferred
- Working knowledge and understanding of material policies and procedures
- Knowledge of our MRP system (D365) is an asset
- Proven communication, organization and planning skills
- Excellent computer skills (i.e. MS Office)
- Post-secondary education in Materials Management or Supply Chain is an asset
