Training Content & Platforms Manager

POSITION TITLE:     Training Content and Platforms Manager – MacLean Academy

LOCATION:               Sudbury, ON (MacLean Research & Development Facility)

SCOPE

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales and Support, the Training Content and Platforms Manager will deliver critical support to operationalize and execute on the MacLean Academy learning strategy for cross-functional digital skill development and mechanical/equipment operation training programs.

Working with customers and stakeholders, the incumbent will apply leading practice in learning and performance consulting to identify and assess learning needs, and will design, develop and evaluate the effective and impactful delivery of competency based e-learning and livestream campaigns. The Training Content and Platforms Manager of the MacLean Academy will direct and provide mentorship to technical and administrative training support personnel. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the scoping, design, development and delivery of MacLean Academy learning projects, meets course development milestones, ensuring delivery of quality learning solutions that meet objectives/final deliverable requirements;
  • Design and develop interactive and responsive eLearning modules/courseware using leading instructional design principles and industry standard tools 
  • Design, develop and deliver innovative digital learning solutions to address customer performance requirements leveraging relevant and appropriate modalities 
  • Lead the implementation of learning curricula, programs, performance support etc. through the learning management system (LMS) 
  • Conduct formal needs assessment (in consultation with the functional learning lead/SME) by identifying broad business requirements, scoping out key design/development solutions and establishing measurement targets deliverables to understand learning objectives of content and subject complexities in order to design and deliver responsive learning solutions 
  • Engage with digital and business skills learning lead(s) and business leaders/stakeholders to understand learning objectives of content and subject complexities as they apply to measurement and evaluation; consult and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze and define learning objectives and requirements 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or equivalent;
  • 10-15 years’ experience in industrial training design and delivery;
  • 5-10 years of managerial experience; 
  • Experience in the mining sector is an asset;
  • Adult education accreditation is an asset;
  • Bilingualism (French or Spanish) is an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Possess a valid passport;
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Regular travel to Collingwood will be required; travel to customer site(s) required; some international travel will also be required.
