Read and interpret drawings and layout parts as required to cut, burn or bend component parts to specification

Set up and operate two or more of a number of metalworking machines such as; band saw, burn table or manual brake press
-
Measure final goods to ensure they conform to correct dimensions and/or other specifications on drawings
-
Operate material handling devices such as; overhead crane, gantry crane, and forklift in compliance with applicable safety standards and best practices. Material handling includes safe rigging and transportation of various loads
-
Adopt and practice good housekeeping, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles
-
Ability to distinguish between various types of raw materials
-
Responsible for organizing and maintaining raw material racking and storage area
-
Responsible for safely organizing finished goods onto correct material handling carts
-
Identify opportunities for improvement
-
Assist with the training of new Machine Operators
-
Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards
-
Abide by ISO 9001 Quality Management System and associated procedures
-
Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, work environment
-
Willing to cross-train in other departments as needed on a temporary basis
-
Previous experience working safely in a manufacturing environment operating equipment
-
Experience operating a band saw or plasma-arc burn table is an asset
-
Forklift and overhead crane experience and certification is an asset.

Eager and willing to learn and progress.

3 weeks’ vacation annually

$1.50 per hour shift premium for Afternoon Shift and Weekend Shift employees

Weekend Shift employees are eligible to be compensated for 40 hours when full 36 hours worked

Afternoon Shift: 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday (4 x 10 hour shifts)
